Need to get fit or want to build on your cycling performance? You have come to the right place.
30 Reasons to take up Cycling
You will meet all levels and ages of cyclists here from complete beginners to national racers.
There is no better place to improve or even start your cycling than your local cycling club.
How do I join?
Just turn up to any of our sessions below and talk to us! There will also be a Membership registration night on Tuesday 14th January at Scoil Padraig from 7pm – 8pm. For those experiencing problems with the new online Cycling Ireland registration you should contact our Club Secretary by email: email@example.com. For insurance reasons you must have your 2014 membership in place for group spins.
Spinning is indoor cycling with your own actual bicycle (any type will do) where the rear wheel is raised and locked into the “turbo trainer”. The class is directed by a motivational member of the club who will ensure you don’t relax too much!
These classes restart this week on Wednesday 8th January. There are 2 classes from 7-8pm and 8-9pm in Scoil Padraig, Altamount Street, Westport. Please arrive 15mins early to allow for bike set up. Bring a towel and drink. There will be 8 sessions for €50 or €10 per session. As these classes are usually over prescribed (especially 7-8pm) you can contact Michael Flynn to reserve your turbo trainer @(087)9388180.
The beginner and sportive/leisure group cycle leaves the Skate Park at 9.30am on Sundays. During the summer there are Wednesday cycles also. There is a racing and intermediate group leaving the clock at 9am on Sundays from the clock.
On Saturday at 9am from the Clock the seniors meet as do the youths @ 10am. Contact Stephen Breheny for more info @(086)6081890.
