The Bourke Waste Rás Mhaigheo 2011

Westport Covey Wheelers will promote The Bourke Waste Rás Mhaigheo which will again take to the picturesque roads of West Mayo on St Patrick’s Day 17th March.

Last year’s race proved to be a very competitive event, with cyclists from all over the country taking part. Charles Prendergast will again be on the start line and would again like to take the top prize, but he should have many challengers.

With a large increase in membership in Mayo this year, many of those riders are expected to take part especially the Club riders who will get a Handicap over the more experienced rider and they should have a good race.

One day licences will be available at sign on.

Sign on will open at 9am until 10.15am at the Castlecourt Hotel, Castlebar St, Westport.

Racing will start at 10.30am

The Bourke Waste Rás Mhaigheo is open to A1, A2, A3, A4, and Club riders with a one day licence, and also YOUTH, under 12, under 14, and under 16.

Race Director Michael Brady has put a testing course together and is looking forward to a great days racing.
