
Road
The racing side of cycling is the more competitive side, consisting of either a road race ranging for distances of 30 km to 200 km with different terrain at each race location around the country.
Each rider would be in a different category depending on there skill level. Starting at A4 riders right up A +.
Then there are the time trials often referred to as the ultimate test, you against the clock. These are 16 km and a 40 km races. Each rider racing against the clock normally starting 30 seconds gap between each rider. The race season kicks of late February – early March right through till September. There a will be plenty of racing to be had both locally and around the country. We will post calendar as soon as it’s available.
We have started our race training for the coming season. Spinning sessions every Wednesday evening from 7pm – 8 pm and 8 pm – 9 pm. at the convent school on Altamount Street. €10.00 per session, best to be there 15 minutes before start time.
On Saturday mornings at 9.30 am we will meet in the Tesco car park, Altamount Street for a 40 mph road spin (hill climbs) and on Sunday’s at 9.00 am we will be meeting at the Clock for a 70 mph road spin.
