Rás Mhaigh-Eo 2022 UPDATE !!
The youth event this year is going to be a lot different than other years. We have taken into account the safety concerns expressed by parents/guardians/official’s and we have made the decision to move the event fully off the public roads and into a venue free of traffic. We will now be running the full event from the Ballinrobe race course. The course for the crit is technical, the road races will be shorter but sharper and the TT will be a full gas 1.2 Km.
Saturday’s road race will now take place on the 1.6km ambulance track around the Ballinrobe racecourse.
U12 4 laps
U14 15 laps
U16 20 laps
Lapped riders will be pulled out and all given the same points.
The 900m crit course will now include some tarmac roads with a limestone dust technical section (Strada Bianca Style) thrown into the mix. This will give riders the chance to work on their bike handling in a race environment. The race times for each event remains the same as set out from the start. Riders will get the chance to try out the courses before race race. Once races start on the course then riders must stay off the course.
The will be toilets open and there will also be a food trailer onsite for teas and coffees.
Car parking
Once cars are parked and the crit starts no cars will be able to move, Please take this into account when you are parking.
Please respect the Marshalls over the weekend. They are there to help out and have given up their time to help ensure the event runs as it should.
We ask all attending the youth event to please respect the venue. It’s important for the future of the event that everything is left as we get it so the venue will be made available to us for the coming years.
Race brief will we sent out Friday morning after entry closes for the event.
