The Clifden weekend came off to a T (+Gallery)

The weather was ideal for cycling on the two days. Both groups Westport Covey Wheelers and Western Lake CC headed off on Saturday morning, meeting up in Leenane for a short stop. The spin was then split into three groups of different abilities with three different distances to Clifden. After check-in to the Station house hotel there was a general talk by Padraig Marrey of Marrey Training Systems about nutrition, goals and planning your year ahead. The Sunday spin was another 3 route option heading back to Westport and Ballinrobe with a donation made to the Red Cross with entry money received on the day. In general everybody seemed to have a good weekend, there will be some tired bodies tomorrow. Thanks to John James Flaherty of Western Lakes for organising this memorable weekend every year.
