The committee of WestportIf want to say a MASSIVE thank you all for your work last weekend. The event went off as a massive success across the board and we have received nothing but praise for all aspects of the event.
As a club we once again showed what we can do when we all work together, so whether you marshaled, were part of the registration teams on Friday or Saturday, drove a car or van or anything else, your support was crucial to the event.
We also want to thank the Tri-Club members who gave us massive assistance. We will return the help during their event in June.
We want to thank all bike marshals, Order of Malta, Louisburgh Ladies GAA club, Glen Keen Farm, Westport Leisure Centre, Clew Bay Hotel, Westport Town Council, An Garda Siochana, Mayo County Council, Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Monaghans Skoda any anyone else who gave their time to help out at the event.
Well done, you all did a magnificent job.
Lastly we want to thank Western Lakes cycling club, through the year the massive effort put in by so many of the club to ensure that all the boxes were ticked to organise WestportIf and the level of confidence and trust which was established between the 2 clubs was great to see. The level of co-operation between the two clubs helped once again to deliver one of Irelands top sportives.
We want to extend sympathy to John Gill who was a very active member of the WestportIf committee on the death of his father. Ar dheis de go raibh a h-anam.
