The race started 3 Km back from the finish line to make up the distance for the race, at about 4km’s into the race there was an attack made, that saw Keith Mulroy (covey),Sean Barrett(I bike),Darren Foy (covey) and Cillian Jordan (Galwaybaycc) make a brake from the group, the group worked well together to stay away for the remainder of the race, with 200meters to go to the line the speed was up with Sean Barrett and Keith Mulroy going head to head in a fast and furious sprint to the line with Darren Foy and Cillian Jordan hot on there heels in a group finish, with 10m to the line it looked like Keith Mulroy would just about take it but a final kick from Sean would see him just do enough to take the win, Darren Foy crossed the line 3rd and Cillian Jordan took the 4th place.
