Mayo County will also count as a Western/Covey league race with the race scheduled for Thursday July 5th in Tullycross postponed till later.

For the first time ever The Mayo County cycling Champ-ships road race will be held on wed July 4th. This race will be for all categories of cyclists from A1 down to U16 and the winner of each category will be presented with a Polo shirt as champion of Mayo.

To be eligible to compete you must be resident,living or working in the county or have been born in the county and be a member of a Mayo cycling club. The race distance will be approximately 55kms and will start from the Garda Barracks in Partry for 6.5laps of the Srah circuit at 7.30pm sharp.
Refreshments, presentation and sign on at Partry hall.

Sign on at 6.45pm at the hall in Partry. Race start 7.30pm this will be a handicap event.
The route will be 6.5 laps of the 5 mile Srah loop.
Refreshments and presentation after in Partry hall.
Each Mayo club has to provide 3 marshals or lead car drivers.

As this is the first year for these championships, it will be organised as a trial event with the following Categories being recognized.
Each finishing position could be the chance to get a place in the top 3 of your category or a point for your club (team competition) so its worth racing till the line.

Cats A1, A2, A3, A4, U16, Ladies, Junior, Veteran( must be open racing licence holder) and club Racers, for category to be recognized there has to be a minimum of 4 starters in that category.

County club/team Competition as part of the race, easy rules, the club who place the highest 5 riders in the overall accumulating the least points wins.

Points for team
1point for 1st
2 points for 2nd
3 poor 3rd and so on.
